    Individual: Policyholder

    Family: Policyholder and all persons living in the same household as well as any underage or adult children of these persons still in education/training who are not living in the same household.

    • Labour law, also regarding executive employees, no limit to amount in dispute
    • Contractual disputes with builders (if the total construction costs do not exceed CHF 150,000)

    Exceptions:

    • Mediations are insured in Switzerland only

    General limitations: If the place of jurisdiction is outside Switzerland, or if foreign law applies, the benefits are limited to CHF 150,000 per claim.


    Legal cases concerning:

    • The unauthorized driving of a vehicle / flying of an aeroplane / steering of a vessel
    • Assertion of claims assigned to the policyholder
    • Disputes with neighbours over the same matter as a previously held dispute
    • Purchase / sale / barter / endowment of real estate
    • Building and renovation if the total construction costs exceed CHF 150,000
    • Disputes with insurance companies regarding the consequences of an illness/injury if the onset of these consequences preceded the initial conclusion of the present legal protection insurance (unless otherwise agreed)
    • Disputes resulting from the trading of securities, stocks or bonds, pieces of art, speculative trading or investment deals
    • Disputes under corporate law or resulting from the purchase / barter / endowment of companies or shares therein
    • Disputes in connection with patents of inventions / cartel law
    • Disputes resulting from acts of war or terrorism, strike, nuclear fission/fusion
    • Disputes between persons who are insured under the same policy

    Disputes resulting from contracts, ownership of real estate and social insurance rights are subject to a waiting period of two months (60 days). If the policyholder is changing his/her insurance without interruption, this waiting period does not apply provided that the dispute had been covered beforehand.

    The insurer makes the decision whether to involve a lawyer. So long as it results in no additional costs, the policy holder can recommend his own representation to Dextra Rechtsschutz AG. When an external lawyer is called in, the policy holder can freely choose who this will be. However, the insurance company has the right to turn down the recommendation of a lawyer. The policy holder can then propose three legal offices, from which one must be chosen.

    An arbitration procedure may be instituted within 14 days. The concordat's provisions regarding arbitral jurisdiction apply.

    Notice of cancellation must be handed in one day before the annual due-date at the latest.

    Action in case of a claim
    Dextra Rechtsschutz AG must be notified as quickly as possible. All documentation relating to the legal incident are to be sent to Dextra Rechtsschutz AG.

    Individual: Policyholder as private or professional driver and as private holder, owner, renter or lessee of a registered road vehicle or vessel, or as pilot of an aeroplane (up to 5.7 t MTO).

    Family: Policyholder and all persons living in the same household as well as their underage or adult children still in education/training not living in the same household, in their capacity as private or professional driver or as private holder, owner, renter or lessee of a registered road vehicle or vessel, or as pilot of an aeroplane.

    Third-party drivers and passengers are also insured following an accident.


    • Non-commercial contracts in connection with vehicles, vessels and aeroplanes (up to 5.7 t MTOW)
    • Criminal defence and administrative proceedings (suspension of licence, etc.)
    • Compensation for damages and personal suffering
    • Patient rights
    • Insurance law: Private insurance, social insurance, health insurance
    • Ownership and property rights to vehicles, vessels and aeroplanes (up to 5.7 t MTOW)
