    Individual: Policyholder

    Family: Policyholder and all persons living in the same household as well as any underage or adult children still in education/training who are not living in the same household and who are supported by the policyholder or his/her partner. Other children who are under the temporary care of an insured person as well as domestic staff (for occupational accidents).


    • Tenancy law (as renters of garages, storage and hobby rooms, holiday homes as well as landlords of owner-occupied property)
    • Labour law for employers in connection with the property
    • Disputes concerning communal costs, and the layout of the condominium units and shares in the property in case of condominium ownership
    • Disputes between neighbours
    • Objections to construction plans of neighbours
    • Objection by a neighbour to a building application by the policyholder
    • Disputes concerning an expropriation or ownership restriction
    • Association law
    • Traffic law (as cyclist, pedestrian, equestrian, hang-glider and passenger of any means of transport)
    • Criminal complaint (offences against personal honour excluded)
    • Legal advice regarding family, inheritance, tax or land ownership law (unlimited number of claims per year)


    • Up to CHF 600,000 per case (cases in Europe, i.e. according to the "Green Card”)
    • Worldwide up to CHF 150,000 per case
    • Mediation in marriage law or drawing up of a separation or divorce agreement up to CHF 3000
    • Legal advice regarding family, inheritance, tax or land ownership law up to CHF 1500
    • Bail (advance): unlimited

    • Costs and fees resulting from summary penalty orders, decreed fines and administrative measures imposed by the Road Traffic Office.
    • Travel expenses to court hearings abroad
    • Translation costs in case of disputes abroad

    Worldwide. However, benefits are limited to max. CHF 150,000 per claim if the place of jurisdiction is outside Europe or non-European law is applicable.


    Insurance cover commences after a waiting period of 3 months. No waiting period applies if policyholder was previously covered for the same risk (either with CAP or another insurer) and if he/she changes insurance without interruption. No waiting period applies to claims for damages, criminal proceedings and disputes with insurance companies.

    Legal cases concerning:

    • Forced sale or building contractor's lien
    • Objections to land use plans
    • Disputes between co-op members or co-owners
    • Ownership law for movable property
    • Disputes concerning the purchase or sale of real estate
    • Disputes concerning non-self-inhabited property
    • Copyright and patent law
    • Disputes with live-in partners or room mates
    • Debt enforcement and bankruptcy law (covered if related to an insured case)
    • Inheritance law (legal advice only)
    • Disputes involving maintenance payments (legal advice only)
    • Disputes involving claims that were assigned to the policyholder

    For cases in which procedural law prescribes an external lawyer, the policyholder may suggest a lawyer. If CAP does not approve of this lawyer, the policyholder may suggest three other legal representatives from different law firms, among which CAP must choose one.

    The policyholder and CAP appoint an arbitrator together. The concordat's provisions regarding arbitral jurisdiction apply.

    Cancellation period of 3 months before contract expiry

    According to contract duration as set out in the policy.

    Action in case of a claim
    The insurer must be notified in writing immediately.
