    Family: Insurance holder, his/her spouse or live-in partner as well as other relatives living in the same household

    Damage compensation rights as well as advisory legal protection worldwide. Legal disputes concerning criminal proceedings or with insurance companies, health insurances and pension funds are covered within Europe and the Mediterranean coutries.     Insurance protection begins after a waiting period of 3 months, except for legal issues concerning compensation for damages and criminal proceedings as well as disputes with insurances, health insurances or pension funds concerning accident (compensation for damages).

    • Conflicts with live-in partners: Conflicts with married or unmarried partners are only provided protection for legal advice (one session per case). Conflicts with roommates are not covered.
    • Inheritance matters (legal advice only)
    • Matters involving maintenance payments (legal advice only)

    If it is proven necessary to consult a lawyer, the insurance holder may choose a legal representative freely. The insurance however has the right to refuse a suggested lawyer. The insurance holder may then suggest 3 law offices from which one has to be chosen. Before assigning a lawyer, the approval as well as cost approval must be obtained from Coop legal insurance.

    Arbitration proceedings may be initiated. Decisions made by the concordate for arbitral jurisdiction apply.

    Notice of termination must be handed in at least one month before contract is due to expire.

    According to contract duration as stated in the insurance policy. Duration may vary between 1 and 5 years.

    Action in case of a claim
    The insurer must be notified immediately, in writing if requested.

    Extras/specials
    Benefits to victims of violent acts

    • Case of death: CHF 150,000 resp. CHF 10,000 (children and young persons up to the age of 18)
    • Full disability: CHF 300,000 resp. lifelong pension for those over 65 years of age
    • Medical costs: unlimited amount over 5 years
    • Material damage: up to CHF 5,000 per case

    Applicants have a 14-day right of withdrawal after having received the policy.

    Individual: Insurance holder as owner, driver or holder of a vehicle, as a pedestrian, bicyclist, moped driver and passenger (of any kind of transportation).

    Family: Insurance holder, his partner and other family members living in the same household as vehicle owners, drivers or holders, as pedestrians, bicyclists, moped drivers and passengers (of any kind of transportation).

    Insured vehicles:

    • Motor vehicles matriculated in the name of an insured individual (including replacement vehicles if applicable)
    • Water vehicles matriculated in the name of an insured invidual in Switzerland and stationed within the country
    • Motor vehicles rented by an insured individual

    Up to CHF 300,000 (Europe) per case; CHF 30,000 outside of Europe
    Bail money (advance): within this sum

    Contract laws: up to CHF 3,000

    For matters concerning the right to indemnity, contract or insurance matters, the amount in dispute must be at least CHF 300.
