Independent decision-making since 1996
As Switzerland’s leading online comparison service, we empower our users to make informed decisions that are right for their needs, saving them time and money.
At comparis.ch, it’s easy to compare the deals offered by providers of health insurance, other insurance and financial services, and internet and mobile communications services. We also offer Switzerland’s largest online portal for cars and property. We remain objective at all times, and have been committed to providing neutral and independent information since 1996. With around 80 million visits annually, our website ranks among the most widely used in Switzerland.

2. How we work
How our portals and comparisons work
Comparis empowers you to compare the prices, features, rates, extras and details of different products and services. This applies not only to our portals, but also to our comparisons in the health insurance, other insurance, banking and telecommunications sectors.
We want you to find the product or service that’s right for you. That’s why it’s important to us that we show you all available deals in a given market. To do this, Comparis also compares the products and services of providers who do not wish to appear in our comparisons, or who do not have a contractual relationship with us.
In the interests of clarity, we do not repeat the same deal several times. If various sellers are offering the same product (such as a car) at the same price, we will only show you the one deal. The individual sellers will then be listed separately.
If you are interested in a product, Comparis forwards your enquiry to the seller on your behalf. The quote you receive is free of charge.
How the Comparis Rating works
The Comparis Rating offers our users a point of reference. It is based on the Swiss school marking system. We distinguish between:
The Comparis Label for insurance, mortgages and mobile and internet plans
This shows customer satisfaction in a given market. It is based on a representative survey of 4,500 people held once a year to find out how satisfied they are with the providers they have used. The providers with the best ratings are awarded the Comparis Label in platinum, gold or silver.
You can find the results in the following areas:
Comparis Rating for the vehicle market
This assesses how attractive an advertised property or vehicle is from a financial perspective, and is also calculated independently. To do this, the prices of the vehicles or properties advertised are compared with average market prices. If the advertised selling price matches the market price, the listing receives the rating 4.5 (satisfactory). A product or listing with a rating of 6 indicates an attractive deal that is less than the calculated market price.
3. The Comparis values
Comparis is the Swiss consumer empowerment platform. Neutrality and independence are what set us apart. This means
We help consumers make decisions about their health, living situation, finances and transport.
We provide consumers with appropriate tools and support to help them make their decision.
We offer our users and Swiss companies high-quality services – wherever possible free of charge.
We help users save time and money.
Consumers are the driving force behind what we do.
The Comparis Group operates for profit in accordance with a sustainable business model. This allows us to remain independent in the future and empower consumers in Switzerland.
The Comparis Group remains in private ownership. No external investors or businesses are involved in the company. The Comparis Group is also independent from government and politics. No IPO is planned.
We want to portray the market as comprehensively as possible. Companies cannot pay to get a better position in the comparison results. We consider it our ethical responsibility not to favour the financially strongest partner.
The Comparis Group finances its growth through its own profits.
Maximizing revenue is not our focus. However, we need to make money to further develop our platform.
The Comparis Group is a classic and Switzerland-oriented SME.
We carefully consider where we invest in order to grow.
Comparis is more than just an ordinary company. Switzerland trusts us.

5. How Comparis earns money – and how it doesn’t
Our comparisons and services are free of charge for our customers. To keep it that way, just like any other company we have to earn an income. This income consists of:
✅ Paid product placement | ✅ Advertising | ✅ Quote and contact enquiries |
---|---|---|
Some deals are highlighted visually in our comparisons and results. These are additional advertising inserts that are clearly distinct from the other deals. They do not affect the order of the results. | Another source of finance is digital advertising, such as banners. These ads are clearly marked as an “Advert” on comparis.ch and in our emails. | We pass on your enquiry in your name to the provider you are interested in. The provider pays us a set amount for this. In return, providers are able to reduce their customer acquisition and administrative costs significantly. |
We attach great importance to transparency. It is our policy not to earn income through the following practices:
❌ Selling data | ❌ Ranking of deals | ❌ Research and analyses |
---|---|---|
Our top priority is to protect your personal data. We handle your data with care, in accordance with our data privacy statement. Unless you specifically ask us to do so when you request a quote from our comparisons, for example, we do not pass any customer data on to third parties. | Comparis is not for sale. Neither are placements in the rankings that we present to you. The rankings of products or services that you see always correspond to the information you have given and the filter criteria you have chosen. Paid product placements and the deals under the heading “most affordable products with quote request option” are clearly separate from the rankings themselves. | Our experts are incorruptible. They work independently and report impartially. |
With its comparisons, Comparis increases the pressure on providers to offer the lowest possible premiums and to keep customer satisfaction high.
In 2023, Comparis generated sales revenue of some 10.2 million francs from its health insurance comparison service for basic insurance.
