Calculate your motorcycle insurance in just a few steps

To calculate individual insurance premiums, insurers need a range of information. Our tip: have your driving licence and vehicle registration certificate to hand.

Motorcycle insurance provides financial protection in the event of accident, loss, theft or damage.

Depending on the age and value of the vehicle and how you use it, you can work out whether third-party liability, partial casco or full casco insurance is the best choice for you.

You can also choose from the following add-ons:

    • Accident insurance
This is recommended if you’re not insured via your employer, or if you plan to drive with passengers who are not resident in Switzerland.

    • Bonus protection
This add-on ensures that your bonus level is not affected in the event of a claim. This means your premiums will not go up in the next insurance year.

    • Suspension discount
If you don’t ride your motorcycle during the winter months, you can deposit your number plates for this period. Your insurance company will then give you a discount.

    • Motorcycle clothing
Your protective clothing is covered if it’s damaged due to an insured incident.

    • Personal belongings
Cover for damage to personal belongings caused by an insured incident.

    FAQs on comparing motorcycle insurance

Third-party liability insurance is the minimum cover you require. It is compulsory in Switzerland.

Partial casco insurance and full casco insurance are both optional. They cover damage to your own motorcycle. It’s usually only worth taking out full casco insurance for newer motorcycles.

Our tip: remember to adjust your insurance cover according to the age of your vehicle.

There is no single universal premium for motorcycle insurance. How much motorcycle insurance costs depends, among other things, on:

    • The provider

    • The type of insurance cover

    • The chosen deductible

    • The cubic capacity of your motorcycle

    • The vehicle price, make and model

    • Your canton of residence

In order to find the right insurance, it’s worth comparing premiums offered by different providers.

    Calculate premiums now

It’s possible to switch to a different insurer in the following cases:

    • When the contract expires

    • If you change your vehicle

    • If your premiums change

    • If you change the keeper of the vehicle

    • In the event of a claim

Document the claim and report it to your insurance company right away. This way, you avoid issues when your case is processed. Many insurers have a 24-hour hotline and can advise you on the next steps you need to take.

You must cancel your motorcycle insurance by registered post, ensuring the letter reaches the insurer by the cancellation deadline. Some insurance companies also allow cancellation via email. In any case, ask the insurance company to confirm the termination.
