Waiting period
Insurance cover commences after a waiting period of 1 month. The waiting period does not apply to civil damages, criminal law, property law, legal protection for drivers and legal advice by telephone.
Insurance cover for tax law and inheritance law commences after a waiting period of 1 year.

Cases in the context of self-employment with a total annual turnover of more than CHF 18,000
Cases under debt enforcement and bankruptcy law
Disputes between common law partners, cohabitants, spouses and partners in civil union
Legal protection relating to the collection of uncontested claims
Cases relating to unreported employment, libel or deliberate violation of the law
Disputes relating to the practising of sports against payment and coaching or training activities from a disputed amount of CHF 30,000
Legal cases relating to a motor vehicle, watercraft or aircraft (motor legal protection)
Choice of legal representative
The insurer makes the decision whether to involve a lawyer. When an external lawyer is called in, the policyholder can freely choose who this will be. However, the insurance company has the right to turn down the recommendation of a lawyer. The policy holder can then propose three legal offices, from which one must be chosen.
Procedures in case of futility or differences in opinion
The policyholder has the right to invoke arbitration within 20 days.
Notice of cancellation
Cancellation period of 3 months before contract expiry
Contract term
Optional: 1, 3 or 5 years (long-term discount: 3% for 3 years and 5% for 5 years)
Action in case of a claim
CSS must be notified of a new claim by telephone or e-mail immediately. If a legal deadline has been set, the claim must always be reported by telephone.
