    Fire
    Cover also includes:
    • Loss or damage due to scorching, electrical damage, and loss or damage caused by meteorites and by crash or emergency landings of aircraft, spacecraft and satellites (or parts thereof)

    Water
    Cover also includes:
    • Frost damage to water pipes that were installed by the tenant and to any connected installations inside the building
    • Loss or damage caused by water or other liquids leaking from heating systems, tank systems, fish tanks, waterbeds etc.
    • Backwater from the drainage system, groundwater and surface run-off
    • Cost of water loss due to an insured event

    Theft
    Cover also includes:
    • Loss or damage caused by robbery, burglary at home or away from home, and simple theft at home
    • Loss or damage of household effects during a move, up to CHF 5,000
    • Jewellery up to CHF 20,000
    • Simple theft away from home: any amount up to CHF 2,000

    Glass breakage
    It is possible to include cover for breakage of glass or glass substitutes for:
    • Furniture glass
    • Glazing in buildings
    • Wash basins, sinks, lavatories (including cisterns), bidets, urinals and partition walls
    • Consequential and complementary damage arising from glass damage up to CHF 5,000

    Limitations of cover
    • Expenses (changing locks, emergency replacement doors, hotel expenses etc.): up to 10% of the sum insured for household contents (can be increased)
    • High-value contents in the event of burglary and robbery: up to CHF 5,000 (sum insured can be increased depending on form of safekeeping)
    • Jewellery: up to CHF 20,000 in case of simple theft and burglary (sum insured can be increased to CHF 70,000 depending on form of safekeeping)
    • Simple theft away from home up to CHF 2,000 (sum insured can be increased to CHF 20,000)
    • Damage caused by scorching and by exposure to “friendly fire” or heat: CHF 2,000 (can be increased to CHF 5,000)
    • Electrical damage: CHF 2,000 (can be increased to CHF 5,000)

    Deductibles
    • The deductible is CHF 500 for natural hazard claims and CHF 200 for all other claims.

    Other points to note
    • Apart from items that are no longer in use, all household contents (including bicycles, e-bikes and skis) are insured at replacement value.
    • Contents insurance includes a 24-hour emergency service (up to CHF 1,000), a blocking service for store cards, debit cards, credit cards, etc., plus compensation in the event of card fraud (up to CHF 5,000 per card and max. CHF 10,000 per event) and mobile phone misuse (up to CHF 300).
    • The concept of underinsurance applies from a loss amount of 10% of the sum insured or starting from CHF 20,000.

      Supplemental insurance covers:
      • Damage to third-party vehicles used occasionally, not regularly
      • If full casco insurance has been taken out, the deductible and loss of bonus are also insured
      • For damage to the vehicle driven: deductible is 10%, min. CHF 500 and max. CHF 5,000.

      Conditions applying to residential property
      • The insurance covers the policyholder's liability as an owner of a self-occupied, exclusively residential single-family or multi-family property containing up to three apartments, a condominium, a single-family holiday home and/or a mobile home with a permanent pitch
      • Undeveloped land is also insured
      • Liability as a self-renovator (up to a total construction cost of CHF 100,000)
      • Environmental impairment liability
