  • JUSTIS legal protection without motor (Personal legal protection)


    Individual: policyholder

    Family: policyholder and persons living in the same household.
    Furthermore: domestic staff while at work, underage or adult children still in education/training who are not living in the same household and who are supported by the policyholder or his/her partner, and children who are under the temporary care of the policyholder or another insured person.

    The listed persons are insured in their capacity:

    • as private individuals
    • as employees (does not include self-employment on a regular or sideline basis)

    • Consumer and other contract law
    • Insurance law
    • Patient rights law
    • Internet law
    • Property law
    • Tenancy law
    • Building work and condominium ownership at private address
    • Neighbours' rights law at private address
    • Victim support

    • Legal information and advice also concerning legal areas that are not or only partially covered


    Max. CHF 500,000 per case (Switzerland)

    • Customary fees of an external lawyer
    • Expert reports (as ordered by a court or by DAS as insurance carrier of JUSTIS Rechtsschutz)
    • Litigation costs (court fees and compensation to the other party)
    • Mediation
    • Travelling costs (for court hearings and legal inspections ordered by a court if attendance is imperative) up to CHF 5,000 per case
    • Loss of income (due to court hearings and legal inspections ordered by a court if attendance is imperative) up to CHF 5,000 per case
    • Costs of payment summons, procedure for the removal of an objection ("Rechtsöffnungsverfahren"), distraint, loss certificate and bankruptcy notice
    • Bail in the form of advance money to avoid pre-trial detention


    Contractual disputes and disputes with social insurance funds are subject to a waiting period of 30 days. No waiting period applies to all other insured legal areas.

    Legal cases concerning:

    • Claims assigned to the policyholder
    • Disability if the accident or the inability to work due to illness occurred prior to the conclusion of the legal protection insurance
    • Disputes between persons who are insured under the same policy
    • Disputes concerning a mortgage or a pledge on real estate
    • Disputes with DAS, JUSTIS Rechtsschutz and their employees
    • Disputes with the policyholder's other legal protection insurance providers
    • Disputes with lawyers, experts and other agents that worked on the policyholder's case
    • Planning and implementation of a new building, reconstruction, renovation or demolition of a property subject to authorization


    In cases of conflict of interest, or if the procedural law prescribes an external lawyer, or if calling in an external lawyer is necessary, the insured is free to choose this lawyer, provided that the chosen lawyer is active in the judicial district concerned and has the required skills.

    An arbitration procedure may be instituted within 30 days. DAS and the policyholder jointly decide on a single judge. The provisions of the Swiss Civil Procedure Code regarding arbitral jurisdiction apply.

    If JUSTIS Rechtsschutz rejects a claim and the insured conducts judicial proceedings at his own cost, the insured costs will be reimbursed provided that the proceedings result in a more favourable judgement than predicted by DAS or the arbitrator.


    JUSTIS legal protection insurance is an insurance plan. It can be terminated every month up to 6 days before the insurance term expires.

    JUSTIS legal protection insurance is an insurance plan. The insurance is taken out for a month at a time and is always renewed for another month unless timely notice is given or the premium due for the next month cannot be debited to the policyholder's means of payment.

    Action in case of a claim
    JUSTIS must be notified immediately.

    Motor legal protection


    Individual: policyholder

    Family: policyholder and persons living in the same household.
    Furthermore: domestic staff while at work, underage or adult children still in education/training who are not living in the same household and who are supported by the policyholder or his/her partner, and children who are under the temporary care of the policyholder or another insured person.

    The listed persons are insured in their capacity:

    • as private drivers or holders of privately owned vehicles
    • as professional drivers

    In case of a road traffic accident, cover also includes persons driving a car registered to the policyholder or riding along as a passenger of the policyholder.


    • Criminal defence in case of violation of traffic rules
    • Driving licence / vehicle registration certificate (dealing with Swiss administrative authorities in the context of a suspension or re-issuing of a driving licence or vehicle registration certificate)
