The Lucerne Cantonal Hospital (LUKS) is the largest Central Hospital in Switzerland. The Lucerne Cantonal Hospital includes the Central Hospital Lucerne, the two primary care hospitals in Sursee and Wolhusen and the High Altitude Clinic Montana. We take care of the population 24 hours a day and supply both primary care as well as highly specialized medical care.. LUKS employs approximately 6'200 employees of various professions. LUKS counts yearly 40'000 inpatients, more than 500'000 outpatient contacts and 3'200 childbirths in its clinics. LUKS is an academic teaching hospital and the largest non-university hospital in Switzerland. We have relations with more than 2'600 referring doctors' practices. Together with the Cantonal Hospital Nidwalden (KSNW) we have a supra-cantonal hospital group.
