1. What is Paramount+?
Paramount+ is a US streaming service provided by Paramount Global.
Paramount+ has been available in Switzerland since December 2022. Besides its own productions, the service offers a variety of content from products belonging to the Paramount Group, including MTV, Nickelodeon, CBS, etc.
2. Paramount+: costs in Switzerland
A Paramount+ subscription is currently available in Switzerland. You pay it monthly or annually. The price of Paramount+ in Switzerland is:
Monthly subscription: 12 francs per month
Annual subscription: 120 francs per year
With both subscription variants, the first seven days are free of charge. Please note: the subscriptions are automatically renewed if you don’t cancel them.
What payment options does Paramount+ offer?
The payment options for Paramount+ are relatively limited in Switzerland. Payment is currently only possible with Mastercard or Visa.
Paramount+: partnerships and combined packages
You can also choose Paramount+ in a combined package. These combined packages offer other streaming services in addition to Paramount+. Available combined packages include:
In 2023, Swisscom launched a new combined package for streaming fans. Apart from Paramount+, it includes the services Sky Cinema, Disney+ and Blue Max. To use the offer, you need a TV subscription from Swisscom. The prices are as follows:
If you commit for one year, you pay 24.90 francs per month.
For a subscription with the option to cancel monthly, you pay 34.90 francs per month.
If you have a blue TV subscription from Swisscom, you benefit from a free month of Paramount+. The costs after the trial month are the usual prices of Paramount+:

Canal+ offers various subscription models with content from Paramount+.
The cheapest subscription is the Canal+ package for 19 francs per month. In addition to Paramount+, content from National Geographic, Disney Channel and Disney Junior are also available.
Canal+ Cine Series lets you stream films and series from Apple TV+, Paramount+, OCS, etc. for 29.90 francs per month.
3. Can I access Paramount+ with multiple devices?
Yes, you can use Paramount+ on any number of devices. However, only a limited number of devices can stream simultaneously.
How many streams are allowed at the same time?
You can run three streams at the same time. These are not subject to any local restrictions. Unlike Netflix, you can also stream outside your household. So you can share your account with other people who do not live in your household.
4. What does Paramount+ offer?
The Paramount+ service includes a wide range of films, series and originals. In total, you can stream 470 films and 229 series (as of June 2024). Paramount+ regularly expands its content as well as deletes existing content from the service.

What languages does Paramount+ offer?
In Switzerland, most films and series on Paramount+ are only available in German and English. People in French-speaking Switzerland can benefit from the French-speaking service of Paramount+ through a subscription to Canal+.
What image quality is available from Paramount+?
Currently, the content of Paramount+ is available at best in full HD (1080p). Paramount+ has announced the launch of a premium subscription in Switzerland. This will allow you to consume content in 4K resolution. However, a specific date has not yet been announced (as of June 2024).
5. Can I watch series and films offline on Paramount+?
Yes, you can download and watch selected films and series offline. This is possible with iPhones and iPads (iOS 13+) and Android smartphones and tablets (Android 5+). The downloaded content is available in the library for 30 days and is then removed. You can download up to 25 videos.
6. How can I cancel my subscription?
If you no longer want to use the Paramount+ service, you can cancel your subscription in just a few steps. In the application, go to the “Account” page and choose “Cancel subscription” under “Subscription and bills”.
There is no notice period for cancelling the Paramount+ monthly subscription. This means you can cancel your Paramount+ monthly subscription at any time. Once you cancel your subscription, you will have access to Paramount+ content until the end of the current paid month.
There is also no notice period for cancelling the annual subscription and you can cancel your subscription at any time. However, your subscription will only end when the 12-month term has expired, as you have already paid for it in advance. A partial reimbursement of the costs in the event of early cancellation is not possible.
7. Summary
In terms of price, the Paramount+ subscription is comparable to the standard Disney+ subscription and the basic Netflix subscription.
The Paramount+ service includes a wide range of films, series and originals, including popular Hollywood blockbusters. However, with a total of 699 film and series titles, the range of available content is smaller than that of some competitors. In comparison: Disney+ has 2,492 films and series on offer, Amazon Prime Video 7,371 and Netflix 7,972 (as of June 2024).
Nonetheless, you benefit from a higher number of simultaneous streams with Paramount+ than with the competitors.
French and Italian speakers should be aware that most films and series on Paramount+ in Switzerland are only available in German and English. For French-speaking people, a subscription to Canal+ may be worth considering, as this allows you to benefit from the French service of Paramount+. There is currently no such service for Italian-speaking Switzerland.
