5. What does Disney+ include?
Which films and series are available?
There are over 2,400 titles available for viewing. This includes many in-house productions, such as Star Wars and Marvel series. Disney+ does not release new series all at once. New episodes appear every week.
The Disney+ library includes much more than just Disney shows: the company has the rights to many popular film and animation studios. These include Pixar, Marvel Cinematic Universe, Lucasfilm and 21st Century Fox.
Content available on Disney+ includes:
The Simpsons (all seasons)
Pirates of the Caribbean
Marvel Studios’ Avengers
The Muppets
The World According to Jeff Goldblum
Star Wars
Planet of the Birds
Disney+ allows you to watch movies from home on release day. Earlier streaming access requires an additional fee per movie. After a few months, though, the film will be included in the subscription price for all Disney+ users.
Can I also view content offline?
Both standard and premium plans allow you to download and watch all Disney+ content offline. The downloads have no time limit and are always available. The offline function can be used on up to 10 devices. However, this option is not available in standard subscriptions with advertising.
6. Summary
Disney+ has many in-house shows and classics that you can’t watch on other services. By launching “Star” in February 2021, Disney+ significantly expanded its content with material specifically for adult audiences.
The standard Disney+ subscription costs the same as the basic Netflix subscription. With Disney+, however, you can stream with two devices at the same time, unlike with Netflix. Plus you benefit from better image quality.
The standard Disney+ subscription is slightly more expensive than the Paramount+ subscription. The range of content is much larger with Disney+. However, Paramount+ offers three simultaneous streams.
