Acts of vandalism

Partial casco insurance (comprehensive) includes coverage for damage due to acts of vandalism. Some insurers use other terms like 'malicious damage by third parties' or simply 'vandalism'.

Usually, cover is provided for wilful or malicious damage such as:

  • broken aerials
  • broken windscreen wipers
  • broken ornamental items
  • broken wing mirrors
  • punctured tyres
  • defects caused by pouring damaging substances into the fuel tank

Some insurance companies list further coverage in their general insurance conditions, e.g. in the event of damage due to spray paint. The list is usually conclusive, i.e. cover is only provided for the types of damage listed in the general insurance conditions.
