Fire damage

Fire claims are covered through partial casco insurance (comprehensive). This includes damage to the insured vehicle arising from:

  • fire,
  • lightning,
  • explosion,
  • short-circuit.

Damage to electronic and electric equipment due to inner defects is not covered.

Some insurance companies state in their general insurance conditions that coverage also includes damage to the vehicle caused by attempts to extinguish a fire.

Tip:
The older a vehicle is, the greater the risk of a technical failure causing it to catch fire. At the same time, its damage potential decreases since old vehicles are worth less than new ones.
