Other specific costs depending on the terms of the contract

What risks are covered by motor legal protection insurance?
A whole range of legal risks related to road traffic are covered. Depending on the insurance policy, the risks covered may include the following:
Question of fault: assistance in legally clarifying the party at fault.
Claims for damages: legal assistance in enforcing your claims for damages in the event of a car accident.
Defence against claims: legal assistance if you are accused of being at fault and need to contest the claim.
Legal assistance in the event of traffic violations (e.g. speeding). Legal protection can cover the legal costs of clarifying the issue of who is at fault.
Motor legal protection usually supports you in disputes relating to your vehicle:
Buying a vehicle
Vehicle repairs
Leasing
Enforcement of claims against your car insurer: support in disputes regarding insurance benefits in your insurance contract.

In many cases, motor legal protection insurance also covers legal disputes in the event of accidents or traffic violations abroad.

Motor legal protection insurance FAQs
In the event of any damage you cause to third parties (e.g. in a car accident), the insured person can’t count on the assistance of legal protection insurance. This is a case for liability insurance.
After taking out legal protection insurance, there is initially a waiting period (qualifying period). This is typically between 1–3 months.
The duration of the qualifying period is set out in the contract provisions. Legal protection will only take effect after this period.
Would you like to have as many legal risks insured as possible? Then combined legal protection consisting of motor legal protection and personal legal protection may be worthwhile for you.
Many insurers offer discounts when choosing a combined insurance policy. It’s also less complicated if everything is covered by a single policy.
