Deductible in motorcycle insurance
The deductible, or excess, is the amount of money the policyholder is required to pay out of pocket in the event of a claim. The amount of the excess is specified in the insurance policy.

Third party insurance
There are deductible rates for three different types of drivers:
young drivers: Drivers under 25 years of age count as young drivers. The deductible is usually CHF 1,000.—.
new drivers: Drivers 25 years of age or older licensed for less than two years count as new drivers. Learner's permits are not considered as licenses. The deductible is usually CHF 500.—.
all other drivers: These drivers are at least 25 years of age and have had their license for at least 2 years. There is usually no deductible.
Comprehensive insurance
The policy states all cases for which the insured individual must pay a deductible. The amount of cover varies from insurer to insurer. Examples for coverages with which a deductible can be agreed on:
