There should be a European Accident Report form in every car. It records not only the parties involved (personal details, vehicle data, etc.), but also information about the circumstances and the course of the accident as well as potential damage to persons or property. If several or even foreign drivers are involved in the accident, the report helps avoid problems with handling insurance matters. It is available in several languages and the content is always the same. The form is not available for download from the Internet, but you can usually get one from your car insurer for free.
Completing the Accident Report is not tantamount to an admission of guilt. By signing the form, the parties only confirm the correctness of the information stated therein.
Tip:
The Accident Report is essential not only in Switzerland but also abroad. In case of an accident, it should be completed in as detailed a manner as possible. Important: all parties involved in the accident need to sign the report. It also helps to take a picture of the place of accident and of the damages.
