1. What is Volt?

Volt is an investment app from Vontobel. Volt is only available as an app – i.e. there is no web version. All Volt products are actively managed. The app allows you to:

  • Invest freely

  • Open up to five custody accounts (pillar 3a)

2. Volt: fees and investment strategies for pillar 3a

With Volt, there are five risk profiles with different stock allocations. You can choose a stock allocation between 10–98%. The minimum investment is 500 francs.

The fees consist of the following:

  • A basic fee of 0.48%

  • Product costs between 0.17–0.20%

  • When buying and selling stocks and bonds, there are additional costs for currency exchange fees and stamp duties

4. How do I sign up to Volt?

You can sign up via the app. You need to provide the following information:

  • Last name

  • Email address and mobile phone number

The registration process is complete once your mobile phone number has been confirmed. You can then open a pillar 3a fund or create a portfolio for free investment.

To open the pillar 3a fund, you must first provide some additional information, such as your date of birth, investment horizon, annual income, risk appetite, etc. Once you have done this, the account opening process begins. You’ll then need to:

  • Provide further personal details

  • Scan your ID documents

  • Sign the contract documents
