How Comparis counts property listings
The Comparis listing database is the source of all figures relating to our rental and purchase listings. It combines listings from many Swiss property portals with listings from providers that advertise directly with Comparis.

1. How we count our property listings
On the results pages and in the property market overview, Comparis shows how many listings there are. These figures include the active rental and purchase listings on comparis.ch. Listings for the following are counted: flats, houses and rooms as well as for other properties such as building land, parking spaces or garages.
Comparis shows listings from many Swiss portals as well as direct listings in one place. Direct listings come from providers that advertise directly with Comparis: private individuals with a free private listing, property companies, management companies and estate agencies via a partner account.
The same property is often listed on multiple portals. Our system detects such duplicates automatically and counts the property only once.
2. How is the comparison with Homegate and ImmoScout24 created?
On the results pages, you will see several figures for your search:
Comparis: all the results of your search. Each property counts once.
Homegate and ImmoScout24: how many of these results are also listed on the respective portal.
The difference shows how many of your results are not listed on this portal according to our data. If you change the search or filters, all the figures adjust accordingly. We do not ask the portals for their figures.
3. Why does a property portal show a different number on its own website?
The portal figure on Comparis is not the number of results on the portal’s website. It shows how many of your Comparis results are also on the portal. The main reasons for discrepancies:
Duplicate listings: A portal sometimes shows the same property several times. Comparis counts it once.
Listings outside of Comparis: The portal may feature listings that do not appear on Comparis.
Timing: Our figures show the status of the last data import.
Detection of duplicates: Automatic detection can occasionally be incorrect.
4. How up to date are the figures?
Listings are added on an ongoing basis are added and removed. That is why the figures are also constantly changing. You can see the current figures directly on the results pages for rental listings and listings for sale as well as in the Comparis property marketplace.
You can receive new listings for your search with a search alert by email.
