Radiology is a specialist medical field that uses electromagnetic radiation and mechanical waves for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
They use imaging methods such as X-ray, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance tomography (MRT) / magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and ultrasound. Interventional radiology also involves the performance of medical procedures (e.g. insertion of stents, biopsies, drainage). Imaging methods are used in the diagnosis of breast cancer or for measuring bone density, for example.
