The calculation of premiums is based on the following assumptions:

Premium of basic insurance
Deductible rate: CHF 2,500
Age group: adults (from 26 years)
Accident coverage: without
Premium region: Favorable of the max. 3 regions in the canton of the practice location

1. Basic insurance

The premiums shown are for the most favorable insurance models within the basic health insurance. If you choose an alternative insurance model (HMO, GP or Telmed), you will receive a premium discount of up to 25%.

2. Deductible rate

As an insured person, you can choose your deductible rate to determine how much you pay per year yourself before your health insurance pays. The higher the deductible rate, the lower the premium.

3. Age group

According to the Health Insurance Act (KVG, Art. 61), there are three age groups:

Babies, Children and Adolescents: By law, all health insurance companies must offer a lower premium for children and adolescents up to 18 years of age.

Young adults: The health insurance company can offer a reduced premium, but does not have to. This applies to young adults between the ages of 19 and 25.

Adults: health insurance becomes more expensive after the 25th birthday. Premiums are no longer discounted after age 26.

4. Accident insurance

If you are employed at least 8 hours per week by the same employer, you do not need accident insurance.

5. Premium regions

In case of different costs within larger cantons, the latter will be divided into two or three premium regions. The regions are determined by the Federal Department of Home Affairs (EDI). It also determines the maximum permissible premium differences between the regions.
