2. Electric convertibles: what’s unique about these cars?
An electric convertible or cabriolet is quiet and efficient – and it’s a pleasure to drive in the open air.
No CO₂ emissions
Electric convertibles produce no direct emissions when driving. This makes them a climate-friendly alternative to conventional petrol or diesel cabriolets. This way, you contribute to reducing air pollution and CO₂ emissions.
Efficiency
Electric cabriolets are more efficient than petrol or diesel convertibles (only available in German). Unlike combustion convertibles, they convert a higher percentage of the energy provided into kinetic energy. In other words: electric convertibles have a lower energy loss.
Charging speed
New charging techniques means only short charging breaks are necessary. Depending on the electric convertible and the charging station technology, you'll be back on the road with a charged car after around 30 minutes.
Compact and manoeuvrable
Electric convertibles such as the Fiat 500e Convertible, Mini Cooper SE Convertible or the Smart Fortwo Convertible are compact and manoeuvrable. This makes them ideal for the city – especially when dealing with narrow streets and limited parking. The vehicles are easy to manoeuvre and still offer enough space and comfort for two to four people.
