The Specialties List is published by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH). It contains pharmaceutical specialties and industrially manufactured medicinal products. These are reimbursed under mandatory basic insurance after deducting the policyholder's out-of-pocket share.
The List of Pharmaceutical Specialties contains original preparations, generic drugs and various homoeopathic, phytotherapeutic and anthroposophic products used in complementary medicine.Limited List of Pharmaceutical Specialties ("SL Limitation")
These products are only partially covered under health insurance. Whether or not mandatory basic insurance reimburses the costs is determined by factors such as use, amount, length of treatment or the policyholder's age.You can find more information on the subject on the FOPH website.
