comparis.ch brings together consumers and providers of various business areas and sees itself as a
producer of transperancy in various markets. To achieve this, comparis.ch needs impersonal and
personal data which consumers hand over to comparis.ch when using our services.
Privacy protection is of highest importance for comparis.ch. When handling data, comparis.ch keeps to the
effective legislation, especially to the Swiss Data Protection Act. comparis.ch uses appropriate
security measures in order to prevent access of meddlers to the saved data.
Collection of data
comparis.ch saves all data that accumulates when the services are used. This especially includes:
- Data that is given by the users via online forms, including personal data (name, address, phone number, e-mail address,
birthdate and sex)
- Usage data (date and time, previous and called URL, IP-address, data on the browser used)
- Data which is contained in the cookies set by comparis.ch (see cookies)
- comparis.ch reminds you that this data is linked to each other and that a person can possibly be recognised by comparis.ch
due to previous user profiles - even if not all data is given
Usage of data
comparis.ch uses the saved data for the following purposes:
- in order to supply the services offered by comparis.ch
- in order to develop statistics on the interest on compared products and services and
further usage of the services offered by comparis.ch
- in order to shape and develop the services tailored to needs
- for maintenance and development of customer relation (e.g. newsletters)
- to show relevant advertisements
- for safety reasons and in order to keep up the operation of the comparis.ch systems respectively those of their server
providers as well as in connection with abusive utilisations
E-mail addresses
comparis.ch takes the liberty of sending information on current offers and services to the e-mail addresses given
in context with acquisition of services. Unsubscribing from this service is possible at any time
through the account settings in MyComparis or through the unsubscription link in every newsletter
Circulation to third parties
comparis.ch does not give personal data to third parties, only if you explicitly wish
for the establishment of contact (offer request, cancellation etc.) with a provider
(comparis.ch cannot guarantee for the respectation of privacy protection through these providers),
which is necessary for providing the service to you or if comparis.ch has pointed this out to you beforehand.
If statistical evaluation is given to third parties - which is permitted - these are anonymised beforehand. I.e. it will
not be apparent who has shown interest for which offers or products.
Cookies
Cookies are small files that are sent to your internet browser by the comparis.ch servers and
are deposited there. Through the use of cookies comparis.ch is able to recognize your computer
at your next visit. One differs between session cookies that are deleted straight away when closing
the browser and permanent cookies that are saved for a period of time.
comparis.ch uses permanent cookies for the following purposes:
- to anayse the usage of offered services
- to show relevant advertisements
- for the function "recognise on this browser"
The data saved in the cookies in anonymous and do not allow any conclusions on personal data of the users.
An exception is the function "recognise on this browser" with which the cookie is linked with the
personal data of the user. This however only happens if you have given your permission beforehand and it can be
switched off anytime.
Additionally, session cookies are used which are necessary for the technical provision of
services. This data is anonymous. Cookies can also be set by third party providers. Please directly ask the
respective provider about their usage.
You can prevent the usage of cookies in the settings of your browser and delete existing cookies
(please take a look at the help function or the service directions of your browser). However,
comparis.ch points out that the usage of some of the services by comparis.ch needs cookies for
technical reasons and they therefore only work with activated cookies.
Linking to third party providers
As soon as you click onto advertisements or call up the page of a third party
provider via another link, you leave the comparis.ch sphere of influence.
comparis.ch does not check and guarantee that third party providers keep to the
privacy terms respected by comparis.ch.
Therefore, comparis.ch recommends to consult the privacy terms of the
respective providers before the usage of their Internet pages or to contact
the respective providers.
Modifications
comparis.ch is constantly being developed. It is constantly checked if additions or modifications
of the privacy terms are necessary. The current privacy terms published on www.comparis.ch apply.
