Acute and transitional care refers to Spitex care services that are prescribed by a doctor and provided directly after a stay in hospital for a maximum of two weeks. The costs are covered by mandatory health insurance, so are fully reimbursed by your health insurer, minus the coinsurance and the annual deductible, and by the public sector. For that reason, there is no patient contribution.
