Senior Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer

  • You have the chance to join - and shape - the newly established and growing Data Team. We are a highly motivated team of diverse experts. Our main mission is to build data products (e.g. recommendations) in order to offer our users a highly relevant customer experience. Furthermore, our job is to provide everyone in the organization with the necessary tools and knowledge to come to better, more informed decisions. We work with agile methods in interdisciplinary teams and highly value autonomy. This position can be filled in our Zurich office. Remote employment is possible as well, although some more frequent travel will be required in the beginning.

#Aboutthejob

  • Planning and implementation of new data products, in close collaboration with our Data Product Owner, Product Managers and Data Engineers
  • Development of statistical models for a variety of and ever increasing number of use cases (prediction / classification / recommendations / personalization) and getting them into production
  • Monitoring, testing and optimization of models in production systems
  • Optimization and expansion of our data/feature extraction pipeline in close collaboration with our Data Engineers
  • Data mining for explorative analysis, including presentation of the results
  • Coaching and enablement of members within our broader Data and Tech community on any Data Science/Machine Learning related topics

#Aboutyou

  • Creativity and curiosity for data-driven innovation in an online environment and ability to apply data science to delight our users and solve business problems
  • When you encounter a problem, you intuitively look for quantitative, mathematical ways to formulate it
  • Minimum of 3 years on-the-job experience, preferably in an online environment. Experience with recommender systems is a strong plus
  • Theoretical and hands-on statistics/machine learning know-how combined with experience in big data concepts and frameworks (Apache Spark, Kafka..)
  • Practical experience with tools for statistical modeling (e.g. Python scikit-learn, SparkML). Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g. Tensorflow, PyTorch) is a strong plus
  • Significant experience in at least one programming language (Python, Scala, Java) across SQL and noSQL databases
