DAB (Digital Audio Broadcast) is a digital transmission standard for the terrestrial reception of radio programmes. In Switzerland, digital radio can be received in CD quality through DAB for which a DAB receiver is necessary. DAB works with MPEG-1 Layer 2 technology. Especially in the UK and Denmark DAB can already be received all over the country. The new standard DAB+ is the follower of DAB.
