The Waid City Hospital in Zurich Nord is a modern acute hospital which treats more than 50,000 patients every year. Working in collaboration with the Triemli City Hospital and the Zurich University Hospital, it covers the full range of internal and surgical diagnoses and treatments. Its University Hospital for Acute Geriatrics specialises in the care of very elderly persons. It also has one of the largest dialysis systems in Switzerland. A large Emergency Centre (including emergency on-call doctors) provides round the clock medical care for the population.
