  • BASIC (contents insurance)

    Principle
    Mobile installations (e.g. rabbit hutch) and their contents are also included in insurance coverage.

    Fire
    Coverage also includes damage to home contents due to scorching caused by cooking or heating fire or other sources of heat; up to CHF 5,000. Damage caused by crashing aircrafts and spacecrafts is also included.

    Water
    Coverage also includes damage due to leakage from tanks, heating systems, heat exchangers, all kinds of heat-producing circulation systems and frost damage to self-installed pipes.

    Limitation of benefits

    • Coverage for jewellery: generally up to CHF 1,000
    • Coverage for cash values: CHF 1,000. No coverage is provided for simple theft
    • Coverage for professional utensils: CHF 5,000
    • Coverage for household items away from home (excluding simple theft): five times the sum insured for simple theft away from home
    • Objects no longer in use are only insured at their current value
    • Coverage of expenses (emergency exits, hotel bills, etc.): CHF 5,000. CHF 500 in case of simple theft

    Deductibles
    The deductible is generally CHF 300 (in case of natural hazards CHF 500).

    Specifics
    • Coverage for spoiled frozen goods is available as an endorsement.
    • Coverage for entrusted items up to total amount of insurance coverage.
    • The provider waives a reduction of benefits in case of underinsurance if the amount of damage is less than 10% of the total sum insured.
    • There is no insurance coverage for travel luggage, sports and leisure equipment in case of simple theft away from home.

    Building glass:
    Coverage includes: breakage of glass belonging to buildings, ceramic hobs, solar panels, kitchen work benches of stone, dome lights and sanitary fittings made of glass, plastic, ceramic, porcelain or stone (sinks, wash basins, toilets, bidets, etc.).

  • BASIC (personal liability insurance)

      Conditions for driving someone else's vehicle
      Basic insurance covers:

      • Loss of bonus for liability insurance for motor vehicles.
      • Damage to trailers that belong to others and are permanently parked for residential purposes.

       

      Conditions applying to real estate

      • Insured liability is limited to one piece of owner-occupied property with no more than 3 apartments and one holiday home (this must be a single-family house) in the policyholder's possession. Neither building may be used for commercial purposes.
      • Liability for undeveloped land is also covered if it is not used for personal commercial purposes.
      • Liability claims resulting from your capacity as owner of a condominium are also covered, complementing the homeowners association's existing property liability insurance.
      • With regard to property, third party insurance is only valid in Switzerland (including the Principality of Liechtenstein, Büsingen and Campione).


      Coverage for children
      Family insurance includes all children up to 30 years of age, provided that they are unmarried and do not work.



      Deductible
      Deductible is generally CHF 500.



      Limitation of benefits

      • Coverage for damage caused by children and other household members incapable of judgement is limited to CHF 100,000.
      • Damage resulting from independent professional activity is only covered if gross annual income does not exceed CHF 12,000.
      • Principal's liability is included up to a construction sum of CHF 100,000.

       

  • BASIC Plus (personal liability insurance)

      Conditions for driving someone else's vehicle

      Basic insurance covers:

      • Loss of bonus for liability insurance and comprehensive insurance for motor vehicles as well as retention for comprehensive insurance.
      • Damage to trailers that belong to others and are permanently parked for residential purposes.

       

      Supplementary insurance:

      • Damages not covered by comprehensive insurance inflicted to someone else's car while using it, other light motor vehicles or trailers attached to these, and motorcycles if you are involved in an accident either as the driver or as the person legally required to accompany a learner driver, provided that you use the vehicle no more than 18 days per calendar year and free of charge.
      • Claims made by the vehicle's owner to cover costs of a replacement vehicle.

      Coverage applies to motorcars, other light motor vehicles and motorcycles (if this coverage option was selected).
      Retention is 20%, but at least CHF 1,000, for each incident.
