It is possible to terminate a leasing contract. Termination deadlines vary depending on the leasing company. For premature contract termination, the level of the installments is recalculated retrospectively. The level of installments must remain the same for the entire period of lease. However, the actual depreciaton rate of a vehicle is always on a declining scale. Thus, a new car's value will decrease relatively rapidly, and as it ages, value loss will keep declining. Should a leasing contract be terminated prematurely, the vehicle's actual depreciation will not equal the anticipated amount used as a basis of calculation for installments. The leaseholder will have to reimburse this amount, should he return the vehicle or terminate the contract prematurely. Another way of pulling out of the contract would be a transfer.
