The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (Finma) supervises insurance companies, banks, stock exchanges, securities dealers and other financial intermediaries. It aims at protecting creditors, investors and policyholders as well as the functionality of the financial markets.
In the health insurance area, the Finma is responsible for the optional supplementary insurance products (supplementary health insurances).
