Basic health insurance
According to legal regulations, there are three age groups for basic health insurance:
- Children: Individuals up to 18 years of age (including the year they turn 18)
- Young adults: Individuals 19 up to 25 years of age get premiums discounts from virtually all insurance providers.
- Adults: All adults 25 years of age and older.
Supplementary health insurance
Supplementary health insurance usually distinguishes between policyholders'
current age and admission age. There are no set age groups as for basic health insurance. Providers determine their own age categories. |
