The Fribourg health insurance company Avenir has belonged to Groupe Mutuel Holding since 1997. At the beginning of 2011, Avenir merged with two other basic insurance providers of Groupe Mutuel, SKBH and St. Moritz Health and Accident Insurance, to form Avenir Assurance SA.
