Would your rent be cheaper in Zurich, Berne or Basle, or are you paying more than your neighbour? In order to improve the clarity of rental charges, Comparis has developed a calculatory model to compare rents. As a tenant, you just have to enter details of your apartment to quickly calculate free of charge if the rent for your type of apartment and location is justified.

Evaluate the rent on your apartment

Based on knowledge amassed from rent comparison data, the Comparis property service can be of even more use to you: Criteria such as the location and infrastructure - e.g. apartment with balcony or roof terrace on an estate -, the position - e.g. distance to public transport and shops, - are included in the evaluation of your rented property or own home. The standard of fittings and the building are even taken into consideration: Is there a dishwasher, parquet flooring or underfloor heating? Is it a new building or an apartment in the old town?
Finally, the rental charges and supplementary costs, as well as the size of the property in square metres are also vital for an accurate evaluation.

How does Comparis compare rental charges?

The Comparis rental comparison service bases on the scientifically tried and tested statistical model developed by the ETH researcher Andreas Keller. He developed the model for his dissertation, under the patronage of Professor Paul Meyer-Meierling and Prof. Dr. Bernd Schips, Leader of Economic Research (KOF) at the ETH, Zurich. Andreas Keller normed and tested the model in four experimental stages. Since mid-2003, four independent property surveys were conducted by comparis.ch for this purpose.
