Questions on Mortgages

  • How can you contact a provider?

It's up to you to decide if you want to contact a provider or not. You can either download the customer advisor's contact information or pass on your own contact details to the provider, so they can contact you.

  • Why can I only select one financing model?

You can only select one financing model, so that quotations can be compared with each other. You enter which mortgage model the providers should offer. This, of course, does not prevent you from finalising a different model with the provider.

If you select the option "special model" or "doesn't matter", please remember that the offers are not really comparable.

  • What is the Mortgage Market?

The Mortgage Market is a new way of bringing customers and providers together. As a (prospective) property owner, you can place a request on the Mortgage Market. Providers will then view your request and make a tailor-made quotation electronically. You can compare the offers without wasting time wandering from one provider to the next. A further advantage: As your request is anonymous to the providers, you won't receive unwanted phone calls. Direct link to the Mortgage Market

  • What information is contained in the offers?

Providers make detailed offers containing the following information:

    • Splitting the mortgage into a 1st and 2nd mortgage
    • Interest conditions
    • Discount for additional business

    • Amortisation / other costs
    • Basis of interest calculation

  • How many providers will make an offer?

In order to give you a complete picture of the market, comparis.ch is making every effort to increase the number of institutions making offers. The exact number basically depends on how many providers are active in the area in which the property is located.( All Mortgage Market providers)

  • When will you receive your personal mortgage dossier?

To help you prepare for meeting with the customer advisor, comparis.ch will create a personal mortgage dossier containing all quotations and important additional information that will simplify your decision and put you in a better position for negotiation with the customer advisor (tables of charges, checklist, information on market development, etc.)

As soon as your request has been processed, you can access your mortgage dossier online. If you wish, we can send you the four-colour bound dossier by post. Sample mortgage dossier

Perhaps you will decide on an offer outside the Mortgage Market. Even so, you can still use the offers and information in your mortgage dossier to help you secure the best possible financing.

  • What's the best time to place a request?

Place your request on the Mortgage Market early enough, since negotiating a contract takes time. Generally speaking, providers make offers up to 6 months in advance. If you are renegotiating a mortgage: don't forget to enquire about termination deadlines and other relevant details for your existing mortgage.

You can save your request on the Mortgage Market at all times and enter the date on which it should be activated.

If start of financing is several months hence, several providers offer the possibility of fixing conditions in advance. However, you will have to pay a so-called forward supplement.
