Amount insured

This is the sum of money which must be paid to the policyholder should the insured event occur. This amount is determined by the holder and provider. When considering material goods, this amount is based upon their value.

The insured sum in the household insurance covers the so-called basic household effects. The basic household effects include fixtures (furniture, curtains etc.), household machines, crockery, bedding, clothes and shoes, comestible goods as well as personal objects that are brought by guests (=guests' belongings).

The evaluation of the insured sum for the basic household effects is calculated according to the amount of rooms, the furnishing standard and the amount of family members living in the household.
