Apprenticeship as a plumber. Studied Psychology, Career Guidance and Journalism and part-time post-graduate studies in Business and Administration (Executive MBA) at the University of Fribourg. Since 1991 various functions in different associations in social welfare and health care, last as Delegate of Public Affairs at Santésuisse, the interbranch organisation of Swiss health insurers. During his many years of association activities, he established a solid network of contacts in business, politics, administration and media.
