Lower customs clearance fees for parcels from abroad

It’s a common enough experience: you find a bargain at a foreign online shop, and order it only to realise after delivery that the bargain is not such a bargain after all, once clearance fees are added. This should now be a thing of the past. The revised customs ordinance has been in force since the beginning of August. It allows a simplified customs declaration for small consignments in postal and courier traffic. The Federal Council intends that this should ultimately lead to inexpensive and rapid customs processing.
