How do I go about calculating the amount I will receive in case of total loss?
- Compensation depends on the age, mileage and original price of the vehicle.
- The
vehicle age table will show you the range of compensation for your vehicle. The amount of compensation can vary slightly depending on your insurance company, since they use different methods of calculation.
You can assume a case of total loss if:
- The costs of repairs resulting from the insured incident exceed the current value
- The vehicle was stolen (and not located within 30 days)
Please also note:
- Under certain circumstances, additional retention can be deducted or compensation is only paid for the current value. This could be the case, e.g. for theft abroad, for expensive vehicles, certain nationalities, certain destinations abroad, etc. (please refer to offers and general contractual conditions)
- Maximum compensation will not exceed the purchase price. Deductions will be made for prior damage and the value of the wreck (scrap value).
