Fire damage is covered by partial cover insurance. Damage to one's own vehicle caused by
- fire,
- lightning,
- explosions,
- short-circuiting.
Damage to electronic and electric equipment due to inner defects is not covered.
Some insurers state in their general insurance conditions that they will also cover damage to the vehicle caused by attemps to extinguish the fire.
Tip:
The older the vehicle, the higher the risk of it catching fire due to a technical defect. However, its damage potential will be lower since old vehicles are worth less than new ones.
