The German discount retail chain has its registered office in Neckarsulm. The beginnings of this trade chain goes back to 1930. Today, there are more than 3,000 stores in Germany. Also, international expansion is conducted intensively (Lidl is represented in more than 20 countries).
In March 2009, the first store in Switzerland was opened; by now there are seven stores - and there will be more coming, for Lidl is constantly looking for new property to build new food stores.
